Final Packing

Today was "Packing Day" and tomorrow is "Departure Day!" At the time of posting it is 103 degrees! This morning, we set up the portable swamp cooler in the trailer to try to cool it down a bit. This afternoon, only my husband can withstand the Arizona heat. The monsoons have not yet arrived to cool down the summer temps, but the clouds have been building the last couple days.

So tomorrow we'll head North on I-17 towards Flagstaff, where we'll turn East on I-40. We'll see what time we are able to pull away from the homestead after we attend church in the morning. My son attended vacation bible school, Power Lab, and the kids will be presenting a program for the congregation. Tomorrow afternoon will be our short travel day as we try to knock off about 150 miles. The next 3 days we're looking at about 350 miles per day to make our destination in Custer, South Dakota by July 2nd.

Stay tuned, we'll be on the move soon!

Welcome to the wandering!

Welcome to WylieWanderings!

You are about to travel with our family across the country while we celebrate God's natural beauty. We are about to embark on a 5 week adventure across the United States and into Canada. We are three humans and three dogs, living in a 5th wheel for the summer to explore and escape the scorching heat at home. Small dogs? Not a chance. Two German Shepherds and an old Black Lab accompany our journey. The humans? Dear husband, myself, and almost 8 year old son yearn for the departure date.

Follow along as we explore!
