Graphics Transformed!

Our fiver was transformed from this…

to this!  With the old graphics off, it was time to put the new graphics on!  The nose of our fiver will be unlike any others on the road.  You see when they sent us a set of virtually all the graphics on our trailer, we had a few that we hadn’t seen before.  A quick search on the internet revealed that the mountain scene, now on our nose, is a rear graphic for the Mountaineer travel trailer.  But we think it looks great on the front cap!

The process:  Once the graphics are off and the surface is washed, tape is used to mark the placement of the graphic.   Then the surface is sprayed with a solution of soap, water and rubbing alcohol to keep your graphics from sticking too hard before your placement is aligned.  The solution is squeegeed out, along with any bubbles.  After you let it sit for awhile, you peel off the protective paper and Voila!  New graphics! 
We will spray our new graphics down with 303 protectant- hoping they’ll last longer!

Plastic Surgery

Our 2007 Montana Mountaineer needs plastic surgery!
The nose is Naked!  We’re sure it baffles the radar of oncoming RV seekers saying, “There’s a …a…mystery machine!”

And the Nike Just Do It swirls on the side were starting to look more like…well…arrowheads?
Time for plastic surgery:
Step 1- Beg & plead for a set of New Shiny Graphics from manufacturer.    (Woohoo! Montana said, “Sure – No problem!  But install is up to you!”)
Step 2- Equipped with a heat gun & chemicals suitable for burning out your nose hairs, Strip off those graphics!

Step 3- Well, we’re not at step 3 yet.  But here’s a look at our incognito trailer!


Ok- really the only “We” part of the equation is that I sent the email begging and pleading.  Chris is doing all the work!  Some warm, sunny day our naked trailer will get Shiny New Graphics!  Stay tuned!

Verde Valley Icicles

We stayed overnight at the Saddle Mountain RV Park in Tonopah, AZ.  We left Borrego Springs on New Year’s Day about 9 AM and headed East towards the Salton Sea, then North to I-10 in order to turn East again for Arizona.  We thought it would be better to head through Phoenix traffic on Sunday and we don’t like to drive too far on travel days.  So we pulled into an overnight pull-thru at a park that is mostly geared for winter residents.  Forecast was for below freezing temps, so we let our water drip through the night.  Our water was OK come morning, but Chris became the broken water line detector.  The site across from us had a broken line and water was spraying everywhere with nobody home.  So Chris shut off the water to their rig.  Then as we navigated the park streets another geyser sprung from the water lines.  This time the resident was home but Chris helped her shut off her water.  Hmmm…wonder how many broke when all was said and done?

We are safe in the driveway of our sticks and stucco in the sunny Verde Valley!  This was our view of the Sedona Red Rocks and Flagstaff peaks as we came down the mountain.  See all that white stuff?  Snow!  It is a balmy 38 degrees here!  Brrr!  Time to drain and blow out the water lines! 

Now that we are home, we’ll have to wait for the next school break to travel, but I will post some reviews of local parks.  This area has beautiful weather in late March, April and the beginning of May.  So if you’re close- stop by!
